Molepi's Osteoarthritis Research exposured @ OARSI 2015 !
Molepi will be presenting at the OsteoArthritis Research Society International (OARSI) annual world congress on Osteoarthritis 2015, held in Seattle, WA. No less than five abstracts submitted by our Osteoarthritis research group were acknowledged for presentation whereas Ingrid Meulenbelt will present as invited speaker.
Nils Bomer will kick off in the concurrent session on cartilage biology, with a talk entitled “The effect of forced exercise on knee-joints of Dio2-/- mice; Type II iodothyronine deiodinase-deficient mice are less prone to develop cartilage damage upon mechanical stress” (Friday, May 1; concurrent session 4: 9:40 AM - 9:50 AM). Next day, he will also be presenting in the plenary session on joint homeostasis: “Dio2 knockout modulates circadian clock genes in articular cartilage through thyroid hormone signaling” (Saturday, May 2; plenary session 4: 12:20 PM - 12:30 PM).
Ingrid Meulenbelt will be next to open the concurrent session on genetics as invited speaker. The talk presented by her is entitled “Genetic Links Between Development and Osteoarthritis: Dio2 gene and Risk for Osteoarthritis” (Saturday, May 2; concurrent session 12: 2:00 PM - 2:30 PM).
Yolande Ramos is last to present and will also be part of the concurrent session on genetics. Her talk will be about “Risk prediction using epigenetic profiles in blood of osteoarthritis patients”(Saturday, May 2; concurrent session 12: 2:00 PM - 2:30 PM).
Besides the oral presentations, 2 abstracts from Wouter den Hollander were nominated for poster presentations. “Discriminating between putative epigenetic osteoarthritis disease drivers and sheer markers” (Poster #294) and “Probing the articular cartilage transcriptome for genetic osteoarthritis susceptiblity” (Poster #295). He will be present to explain his work on 450k methylation and RNA-sequencing during the poster sessions (May 1 & 2; 3:30 PM – 5:00 PM).
Meet and greet them all at the OARSI 2015!
